This website is about my hobby, vintage radio restoration and collection. It’s mainly in Italian but many articles will be published periodically in both languages – so come back frequently!

As we receive so many emails asking schematics, value of a radio, and other frequent questions – please read the following (thanks!) before sending an email:

  • Schematics: I don’t offer schematic service: I’ve spent a considerable amount of time to send almost everything I have to Radiomuseum.org, so that it can be easily downloaded by anyone. Otherwise, I’ll be glad to swap schematics with pictures of the set for which you’re looking for the schematics: please email good photos of the set when asking – pictures will be published in Radiomuseum.org. If the schematic is not available in Radiomuseum.org, I haven’t got it.
  • Value of your radio: please don’t ask, I (really) don’t know what your radio is worth.
  • Identification of a set (“which model is this?”): please try to use the Radiomuseum.org search engine (with gallery or tube list) first. I won’t be able to help you without pictures and tube list.
  • Non working tube set: I can restore it (I live in Udine, N-E Italy, ~100km from Austria or Venice)
  • Spare parts: I usually don’t sell substitutes, since I just have a small inventory used for my repairs, but feel free to ask if you really need help. Email:

Who we are:

Alessandro: I’m a musician (master in organ) and electronic engineer. I’m keen on vintage electronics such as tube radios. Many radios of my collection are in the photo gallery of this website.

    freight costs will probably exceed radio’s value. I’M NOT ABLE TO GIVE AN EXACT VALUE OF YOUR RADIO, since I don’t know conditions, etc. A rough estimate might be available in Radiomuseum.org.

    I have a Sony Sterecorder 521. I am attempting to find a power cord for it and compatable tapes. Do you have any suggestions on where I could purchase parts for vintage machines. I’m not even sure what i am looking for. I don’t have a manual so I dont have the names or sizes of the tapes and coard I am looking for. I live in Canada but have a pay pal account. Any tips would be very much appreciated

    sorry, I don’t have any other information about this tape recorder which is not already listed in Radiomuseum.org. I haven’t got neither manual nor schematic, just a scan of an Italian advertisement from a popular car magazine (Quattroruote) of the ’60s.

    Hello,
    at first, I would recommend identifying the model you’re looking for. I would advice using Radiomuseum.org search engine. After that, you might want trying in online radio flea markets, other Italian radio websites, auction sales, Italian ebay “want it now”, etc.

  8. Hello, I saw your name on the radiomuseum website. I have a WWII era radio/turntable in a beautiful wood cabinet. The wood is in very good shape for it’s age but the electronics do not work. The radio is made by Vertola and I believe the turntable is made by Contina Ltd Mauren. I am having trouble finding anyone who has info on these manufacturers and who can help to restore them in the U.S. — Do you have any ideas?

    Maker was indeed Italian, I wonder how this radio has come to the US!

  9. Hallo. My name is Giannis from Greece and I need your help in a matter. I own 1 pair of Geloso Amplifiers (G-278A push-pull 75W rms) in excellent condition. I need to sell them here in Greece but as they are too rare I dont know for how much I should sell them. I know that you have the knowledge to help me on this.     Did you have some more Informationes about the biography of Itali Ninni, his company in Turin and the “Philmagna”-devices?
    Does the name “Philmagna” had anything to do with the Philips company?

    we have updated the page of the maker accordingly in radiomuseum.org. Moreover, we added few devices from Italo Ninni as well. Philmagna was not related to Philips.

    My name is Nicolae Popescu and I am a member of the Radiomuseum. Looking for documentation for a Kenwood KX-2060 cassette player, I discovered one in your collection. A friend brought me a KX-2060 cassette player with a burnt transformer for repair. I opened the transformer with the intention to rewind it, but I found an inconsistency related to one of the windings. If you still have the tape recorder in your collection, I would ask you to help me with a voltage measurement for this winding. I send you an e-mail, attaching the diagram of the transformer and the winding that needs to be measured. Thanks in advance for help, Nicolae
